Beyond the Screen

Beyond the Screen is a conceptual exhibition based on the idea of promoting digital art to traditional artists and people unfamiliar with digital art. This project was done in collaboration with Makayla “Nori” Roberts (Nori Design).

An example of how a standard display would look like. Plaques take the shape of a file icon to connect with the digital theme of the exhibition. Headphones are included for blind people or for anyone who would like to hear the text on the plaque.

An example of how multiple art pieces would be displayed. Every artist section includes a kiosk that displays a timeline of the artist in question. This timeline includes information about the artist’s beginnings, their most notable pieces, as well as what they’re currently working on or where they’re currently holding exhibitions at.

Another example of how multiple pieces would be displayed. For any blind visitors, high contrast floor stickers are used as pathway guides. Tactile dots are also included in order for visitors to feel the path under their feet.

An example of branded signage as well as usage of the digital easel. The easel allows visitors to create their own digital art and experience the process of creating digital art for those unfamiliar with the process. After finishing their art, they have the option of sharing it to a hypothetical gallery that will be displayed in a rest area. If any visitors want to share their favorite art seen in this area, they can scan the QR code to share it on social media.
