Music House Museum Website Rebrand
The Music House Museum is a non-profit museum located in Michigan that archives a unique collection of historical instruments and takes guests on a tour through the history of musical instruments. This is a conceptual rebranding of the museum’s website that updates it with modern accessibility standards in mind while still maintaining the museum’s music history roots.
Logo
At the time, the museum did not have a proper logo. I created a mark that reflected its status as a museum that archived musical instruments. To create visible contrast between its history focus and the modern update to its website, the geometric mark is paired with a serif typeface.
Website
To maintain brand equity, the color palette incorporated muted colors that reflected the museum’s focus on preserving music history. The original website has been updated in recent years, but at the time, they did not make good use of their large gallery of official photos. Thus, I chose to incorporate as many photos depicting tours and their volunteers as much as possible to humanize their brand.
Another issue their original website had was that it was very text-heavy and required visitors to read several paragraphs in order to find where they needed to go. Additionally, their navigation menu was somewhat confusing to navigate through, as the pages didn’t seem to be grouped in ways that made sense. Thus, the website was simplified to be easier to navigate.
